The Sex Boutique has not been in business for very long, and were looking to build a website that sets them apart from the rest of the industry. They wanted to offer a boutique buying eexperience without all of the noise currently infesting other e-retail sites. The Sex Boutique’s primary concern was the ease of updating the website themselves. With little experience working with web frameworks, The Sex Boutique wanted to make updatability a priority while still allowing for some of the more customized design options that usually comes with a website that is more difficult to update. Chewie Media, excited by the challenge, created a game plan immediately. Creating a dynamic design and implementing a CMS framework with scripts running to automatically perform tasks such as image re-sizing, html markup, and menu updates, Chewie Media accomplished this primary goal. On top of this, Chewie made sure to create scripting that allowed for dynamic content within these custom design items. A second concern was the need to make their website which was capable of handling more than 10,000 pages of content and responding quickly when calling upon each of them. Chewie Media was able to leverage advanced caching technologies to limit the load on their server, saving them money and headaches in the process. Thirdly, The Sex Boutique wanted to have a checkout experience which met security standards while still keeping all of the “action” on one page (a problem faced by some new e-retail sites). Chewie Media leant on the technologies of Stripe and Paypal as integration options to further this goal.
The Sex Boutique also needed new branding to go along with this new vision. Chewie Media provided a logo and colour scheme to fit their designs for a large-scale online retail site. Banner advertisements, menu clickables, and call to action pieces were also provided as part of this comprehensive Premium Website package.
The Sex Boutique has over 10,000 products to contribute to their online store, and had concerns in the past of fitting their massive catalogue on one site. By implementing the store in this framework, The Sex Boutique will enjoy just that; and are excited to get their entire catalogue up on their new site.
